Night Moves

The island may be known for its natural beauty, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end when the sun sets. Here are three ways to keep the energy up when the lights go down.

Cocktail Hours

A short walk from the Atlantis casino leads to Marina Village, the resort’s open-air waterfront lined with shops, restaurants and bars showcasing local rake-and-scrape bands and live calypso music. The Dilly Club is one of the village’s newest arrivals, serving tiki-inspired cocktails in a relaxed, bohemian setting. A few doors down, Café Martinique brings candlelit elegance that “transports you to London or Paris” with sunset aperitifs and live piano music. Those who want to stay out late often end up at Aura Nightclub. Designed by Jeffrey Beers, the 9,000-square-foot haunt is open Thursday through Saturday and draws a mix of locals and resort guests who stay on the sunken dance floor until closing time.

Hot Tip: Dilly Club espresso martinis are a crowd favorite.

All In the Family

Movies make for easy all-ages fun, and the Atlantis Theatre shows recent blockbusters in comfortable, air-conditioned seats. For the more adventurous, Lost City Escapes runs two escape rooms (Poseidon’s Promise and Blackbeard’s Brig) that bring brain-teasing puzzles for teams of three to eight players while Good Lies Mini Golf & Sports Bar offers storytelling-themed holes and lighthearted competition. Late-night energy benefits from Crush, Atlantis’ 14,000-square-foot teen club featuring DJ-led dance floors, gaming stations and VIP-style hangouts, while adults can enjoy their own entertainment at Bar Sol, the casino’s refined lounge named for Atlantis founder Sol Kerzner. Live entertainment runs the gamut from nightly sets by local Bahamian bands to a steady rotation of tribute acts that range from Prince to Bon Jovi to Queen.

Hot Tip: Try the Bar Sol Lemonade — Empress 1908 gin infused with lavender honey and Bar Sol’s signature house lemonade.

Island Flavor

Off the resort, Paradise Island keeps the momentum going. The new Carnivale Bahamas, set along Hurricane Hole Marina, mixes Latin-fusion food and cocktails with marina views and a lively weekend music lineup that creates a high-energy, waterfront atmosphere (especially for larger groups). Viola’s remains a favorite spot for Friday-night karaoke with an easygoing crowd, while The Point Restaurant & Bar in Nassau Harbour shakes it up with live music on the weekends and postcard-worthy sunset views.

Hot Tip: Sit outside at Carnivale to savor the views of the superyachts docked in the marina.
