This season, swim and resort wear designers channel the fantasy of a mid-century escape – a Slim Aarons centerfold with no shortage of cocktail-hour doyennes. However, these collections are shaped by timeless silhouettes that feel at home no matter the decade. For women, sculpted maillots with squaredoff necklines, cinched waists and high-cut shapes are punctuated by textured fabrics and metal accents that exude poolside refinement. Case in point: the belted Destination one-piece by Eres. In lieu of hardware, shimmer is being woven directly into the fabric — Devon Windsor’s Lucinda bikini is knit with a metallic yarn that shimmers like water catching sunlight. Men’s offerings fall in step: Orlebar Brown tightens its grip on the tailored-resort space with linen and silk-blend shirts and shorts, while elevated details like tonal embroidery and contrast piping add a healthy touch of pomp.

The season’s colors reflect a 24-hour spectrum, from washed-out dawn shades to heat-soaked coral and deep nocturnal tones. “This mood captures a collective longing for ‘A Dream Day’ – that golden vision of a perfect summer escape where elegance and ease coexist,” says Erica Lima, Head Buyer and Director of Business Development at Carlo Bahamas. “The palette is optimistic and serene, steeped in sunshine hues, soft light and the quiet allure of endless horizons.” While delightfully retro, patterns are less Palm Springs and more Italian Riviera: think
mosaics and maximalist shape play, to speak nothing of subtlety. Attention is also called to accessories. Hand-embroidered totes feature oceanic motifs that evoke summers spent in Capri. It’s official: Pucci Girl Summer is here to stay.
