The Bahamas has long been synonymous with a certain kind of elevated magic paired with salty air, sunshine and style. Whether you’re poolside with a cocktail in hand, slipping from a cabana lunch into an evening event, or chasing kids through the surf, island shopping gives you various options to indulge. This season, four brands have garnered resort wear’s full attention: Miami-based niLuu, which brings in vegan silks and rock-and-roll soul; Devon Windsor, the brand (by the supermodel-turned-entrepreneur of the same name) making glamour feel livable; Canada’s cult-status couture house Shan, still owned and operated by its visionary founder four decades in; and Brazil’s Lenny Niemeyer with its Ipanema-born designs that have graced the bodies of Gisele Bündchen and Naomi Campbell. So, as the summer season gets into full swing, here’s what to know about the brands making an island splash.

niLuu
The Brand
This Miami-based luxury resort wear brand offers a show-stopping collection that screams effortless chic — from day to night. Created using vegan silks crafted from Bemberg cupro (an ultra-soft, cruelty-free material), each garment, from caftans to pants, is designed for the sophisticated traveler. Think lightweight, breathable and effortlessly versatile. “Our signature prints are named after iconic musicians, like Jagger, Lennon, Bowie — hence our core mission of blending timeless elegance with artistic expression, making every niLuu piece recognizable and very personal,” says founder Nilüfer Bracco.

The Anya Oriental kimono and the slip dress are two styles that can be worn together or separately. They are ideal for The Bahamas, serving as niLuu’s signature combination that can be taken from the pool to a night out. Most recently, niLuu launched a sleep mask to achieve the ultimate beauty rest, “because we know the luxury of deep, uninterrupted sleep, and this is a must-have for travelers or anyone who takes their rest as seriously as their style,” says Bracco.

Devon Windsor
The Brand
Launched in 2019 by supermodel Devon Windsor, the eponymous brand’s pieces, ranging from swimsuits to leisure dresses, reflect Windsor’s signature blend of glamour, confidence and effortless sex appeal. Her figure-flattering silhouettes come in a multitude of styles, including high-cut bikinis, belted one-pieces and even suits with strategically placed cutouts that flatter the female form. Her collection of cover-ups and dresses are also must-haves.

A model, mother, entrepreneur and wife, Windsor’s collections are created with sexy practicality. And it’s her distinctive details, such as handmade hardware and luxurious Italian, Brazilian and French fabrics, that elevate each piece while maintaining function. Since its debut, Windsor’s brand has expanded beyond swim into resort wear. Now, Windsor’s fans can coordinate family collections as well, with everything from bikinis to turbans that allow mini-mes to look as chic as mom.

Shan
The Brand
From resort wear to ready-to-wear, Shan is a Canadian-based, internationally recognized couture brand with a cult following. Founded in 1985 by Chantal Levesque, who still owns and operates the global brand, Shan has always had a reputation for bringing travel and poolside fashion to new heights. “From the beginning, my vision was to offer a niche product with stellar design and European textiles to an international audience,” she says. She succeeded. The brand is now carried in more than 35 countries.

Shan’s Cruise 2026 collection is ideal for the luxurious consumer, hence offering visitors a vast selection within the boutique. Season after season, Shan delivers high-quality fabrics paired with chic designs — everything from bikinis to modest one-pieces, all designed for an effortless poolside experience. And don’t miss their versatile cover-ups that can be worn from pool to party all year round.

Lenny Niemeyer
The Brand
Considering herself a “São Paulo woman living in a coastal city,” Lenny Niemeyer’s namesake collection was influenced and inspired by Rio de Janeiro, where she moved in 1970. Having launched in Ipanema in 1991, Niemeyer’s brand was born to create beachwear for an elegant woman who wants to feel comfortable and feminine without being tied to trends, she says. Blending Niemeyer’s passion for art, design, architecture and sustainability, what started as an evening-wear collection has since evolved to unique designs in swimwear that include elements of saddlery, metal and leather accents.

Niemeyer is a Brazilian designer whose runway shows have featured the likes of models Gisele Bündchen and Naomi Campbell. But celebrity aside, it is her designs that steal the show. Globally recognized in the swimwear space, she is known for her frequent collaborations, which have included Veja, Fiorucci and Schutz.
